By November 20 the famous meteor rain "Leonid" reaches its peak. It meteors very fast (about 40 kilometers per second) and can leave traces of smoke in the atmosphere. They move in the constellation Leo, and may range in color.
Usually these meteors white or bluish-white in color, but in recent years, some observers reported yellow-pink and copper-colored.
This meteor rain was named "Leonid", because the meteors moving from the constellation Leo (Leo). This year the number of meteors will be limited and will reach at best 10 to 15 meteors per hour. Last time meteor rain "Leonid" reached thousands of falling units per hour in 2002.
