For the first time, scientists have discovered a mass grave a herd of mammoths, which is located on the territory of Serbia.
Helped to find the remains of at least 6 of the ancient relatives of elephants strongest driving rain.
The discovery was made in the area of the mine near the village of Kostolac, East of Belgrade.
This plot is situated close to another area, where a few years ago, archaeologists discovered the remains of two mammoths



The find became a real surprise for scientists. Archaeologists first learned one part of the giant remains of mammoths, which were damaged by mining equipment.
Later the rain washed away part of the sand layer, facilitating the work of researchers.
"We are going to use every possible means and devices to clean the bones from the sand, which will help us to learn a lot about the age mammoths", say the researchers.
The age of these animals can vary from 100 thousand to 1 million years.
