A small ivory sheet length 38, of a width of 14 and 4 mm thick, probably, is not a part of something larger. According to the German archaeologists, evidenced by the nature of patterns: they cover the entire surface of the subject and do not seem incomplete or unfinished.
Radiocarbon analysis of organic residues in the layer, which contained plate, showed that it is made between XXX and XXXVI Millennium BC
For 20 years the researchers studied a bone plate. During this time, they expressed many hypotheses about the meaning of marks on its surface. So, the figure shown on it, apparently, is a dancing or praying person, a fantastic creature, and can be, the divine.
According to the latest theory advanced by Michael Rappenglueck, a former employee of Munich University, the meaning of this image is hidden in its proportions and position. Raised hands, legs, and one shorter than the other, sword or club, hanging from a belt, they accurately reflect the relative positions of stars in the constellation Orion.
The German researcher suggested that more than 30 thousand years ago people said the figure formed by stars, "Hunter" or "Fisher"and the little man on a bone plate personified this constellation.
There is another fact, which partly confirms a new theory of Rappengluck. The reciprocal position of the stars in the sky not constant, it changes, but very slowly. 32 thousand years ago it was not so, what can be observed now.
The ancient image of the Orion constellation
Dr. Rappengluck used a computer simulation to determine the mutual position of stars in the constellation Orion in the Paleolithic age. It turned out that it was exactly as in the picture, made, as is now expected, 32,5 thousand years ago.
Archaeologist has estimated that the number of notches on the other side of the plate also has its explanation. 86 points represent 86 days - the difference between the duration of pregnancy in women and the number of days in a year. It is for 86 days in a year is visible on the sky, the brightest star in the constellation Orion. The juxtaposition of these two facts suggest that in ancient culture, which belongs to the figure, adored Orion and connected it with fertility.
Bone a plate from the valley Oh did primitive man of the late Paleolithic. The earliest traces of their stay are to XXXXIII Millennium B.C. According to anthropologists, they are connected with the migration of Homo sapiens and the displacement of Neanderthals from Europe and the Middle East. The most famous archaeological finds belonging to this culture are located in the South of France. This cave paintings in caves in the Dordogne region and in the seam.
